Tete Travels

PCVs always say that Tete is one hot province, but whenever I travel there (twice already) it's always been overcast, wet, and cold.  Here's what Mavudze Ponte looked like seven months ago:

I don't know what everyone's complaining about.  Tete's always been cold to me.  

Zobue, too, was wet and rainy when I arrived, but I liked seeing the mountains enshrouded by clouds--felt like we were on high high elevation.  And then of course Jeff arrived and with him clear skies and sunshine.

Zobue's a beautiful site, no doubt about it.  A glorious hike, even though it made me realize how out of shape I was/am.  Also, I have to say I never ate so well on a trip as I did on this Teteventure.  PCVs Sienna, Tania, and Heather are true Chefe Chefs.

We made tortillas the next night, but I was too busy eating to take a picture. Oh, and then I binged on Bon-Bon's for sobremesa.  Thanks Jeff, for giving me this addiction.
